Other than the vast list of benefits that regular attendance to a Pilates class provides, people are realizing that maintaining their level of strength, flexibility, muscle tone etc. is easier than trying to repair themselves post injury and slowly building back their strength, flexibility & fitness
Helps Reduce Low Back Pain
Muscle strain is often the cause of low back pain from heavy lifting or vigorous exercise.
Pilates is designed to help reduce low back pain, it is a method of slow, focused movements that are designed to help slowly rehabilitate the muscles & body.
In every one of my Pilates Classes we use trigger point balls & Spikey massage balls which help release tension & adhesions in the muscles, increase blood flow to the areas, stimulate the healing process, increase heat and helps soften & rehydrate your facia
Strengthens Your Core Muscles
The core is a collection of muscles that stabilize, rotate and move the spine.
A healthy core translates into a stronger lower back, better posture & less stress on joints such as hips or knees
Pilates is designed to move the body through its natural planes while having your core ‘active’ or ready to react
Like any muscle group your core or tummy muscles can be weak or what i like to call ‘switched off’. In my classes I try to teach people how to activate or engage their core
Increased Flexibility
My Pilates classes incorporate flexibility with muscle activation exercises and finish with myofascial release techniques
These techniques can help free up ‘congested’ muscles, increase range of motion and overall flexibility
Myofascial Release
All of my Pilates classes incorporate flexibility with muscle activation exercises and finish with myofascial release techniques as i have mention above
Spikey Balls are used in these muscle release techniques which help to reduce low back pain, muscles aches, tension, increase flexibility & mobility
You can watch a video demonstrating the use of these massage therapy balls here
Friendly Group Atmosphere
Not only are my class locations beautiful & comfortable my clients are even more fabulous. The clients who come to my classes are what I call ‘repeat offenders’ 🙂 I have clients that have been with my from the start of my career which is 17 years!!!
